First time taking out lunch here. The prices are ridiculous for the poor quality. I ordered the sashimi lunch combo. The sashimi looked like it had been shaved. So thin and small, I couldn't believe they charged $13 for it!! We also had gotten the sushi teriyaki chicken combo. The chicken was cold and cut into thin pieces. Overall a huge disappointment.

Food is consistently good. Sushi is very fresh and rolls are a good size. The service I have to say is average, unfortunately the wait staff get a little huffy if you don't order a drink. I hate to remind them that if you are driving it's better not Drink!!!

Excellent sushi have been coming here for 5 years and every time it is excellent. We bring all our friends and family here when they are in town. We have been here 20+ times and never had a bad experience. Staff is friendly and helpful on what to order. Presentation is great as you can order a titanic ship of sushi for a party of 5. Ask for Bobby he will give you great dinner service.

Very fresh sushi and great service. The only problem is the parking which is limited. There is a fast food place just west of Bluefin. Park there and walk over.

Food and service is good. Everything tasted fresh and came out fairly quickly. They also have really good lunch specials that are well priced with good portions.

I had a fabulous lunch here. Everything we ordered was really good. The calamari with the sweet dipping sauce was tender and delicious, tuna yukke was one of my favorite dish, and the thinly sliced sashimi with jalapeno was like butter! I can't remember what type of fish it was. The boat for two was huge!! Great selection and fresh fish. Parking was impossible here for lunch during the week with so many business lunches going on. The only downside is that they are pricey but they are in Boca after all. (Another weird thing is that there's a Wendy's right there with cars congesting the already congested parking lot with the drive thru.)

I have been here a handful of times. Each time going here, I was instantly greeted and seated. There are certain days of the week, at lunchtime, this place could get very crowded. The only dishes I have ordered here are the sweet potato tempura and cucumber rolls. Each time they have been prepared well. There definitely are many other options on the menu to explore. The next time I go, I'll take the leap and order something more risqué (of course it'll be vegetarian).

Food is fresh and delicious! The few times i have been here I had the shrimp salad that comes with crab, asparagus, cucumber, seaweed, carrots and ginger dressing. Large salad with fresh taste! The miso soup is also delicious. My sister and dad split a lunch box that had a combination of different sushi rolls and teriyaki chicken-yummy! The atmosphere is nice and intimate. My first time eating here I had the worst waitress, she literally didn't speak to my party the entire time we were there. Oh well, worth the fresh sushi and salad! A little pricey but most sushi places in boca are. I'd definitely recommend it, just be warned about some rude service!

I love this restaurant its menu is exotic unique and worth the stay. The waiters are professional and courteous. A must go if you are in boca

Great Sushi and very good service, we ordered the Volcano Roll and the Lobster Bomb and both were very tasty and fresh, a lot of lobster meat too. I even took a picture which I never do. I'll be back soon!

I have been ordering delivery from Blue Fin Express for a few months now. Everytime they make a "little" mistake. Today was the end all be all. I will never order from there again. The woman who answers the phone is unbelievably rude. When I called and let them know they forgot a salad from part of the $63.60 order she began yelling at me saying they were too busy to bring it and hung up on me. I called back advising we paid for the salad and they needed to bring it. She again hung up on me. Now I have to go through the process of disputing on my credit card. There are other good sushi places in Boca to go to.

Ha heard good things, so we finally decided to try it. Not impressed with the sushi at all. No fresh scallop, toro, or uni. People who reviewed were not real sushi eaters. Pad Thai was adequate. Service and atmosphere were both pleasant enough. Very family friendly . That being said, I am not running back there the next time I am in Boca and craving sushi.

The Penang curry Outstanding. Good mix of sushi and Thai in the menu. Prices were reasonable. Great experience overall.

Ventured over here again for lunch with a couple of co-workers and tried the American Dream roll at their recommendation. SOOOOO YUMMMMY! Nothing bland about it, as my previous review was all about the bland tempura. Clearly, the menu items to get are the rolls! At the hefty price of $13 for the roll, it made for a spendy lunch, though the roll was very big (I did eat the entire thing though). It's just not a price I'll pay for lunch on a regular basis, but 1-2 times per year I'll give it a whirl.

This place didn't wow me but it didn't completely suck so I'm still a bit conflicted. Like Adam's review, this place just didn't stand out to me except the fact that their lunch prices and specials are a little more expensive than normal. It's very trendy inside and I can see it being a happening night spot but during lunch you have the regular lunch crowd who just wants to get in and out. I dig that they have bento box specials but that range from $10 to $14 so it can get pricey. You get a soup or salad with lunch so thats always nice and they offer Thai dishes on the lunch menu as well. Our server was king and attentive.....too attentive. He wouldn't let me finish one glass of water without coming over right away to refill the two sips I had taken. I like a man who cares about my hydration but it was a tad overboard. He could have spent all the time coming over to our table by dropping off our check after our table was cleared. We just around waiting for him and had to get back to work so you know, we can go out to eat lunch. All in all, a good place just nothing special.

The food is very good and also consistent - I've only had good experiences here. The ginger dressing salad is delicious and a great starter. All the sushi and rolls I've tried are very good and the Thai dishes are also solid. Good service. The parking can be a bit tough at times.

First visit last night. Nice presentation, good portions and price. Everything my part had was delicious and the service was top notch. Especially like the seared tuna in ponzu sauce and snapper filet in red curry. Will return again.

Even though I don't do sushi nearly as much as I used to, I have tried many local sushi restaurants and overall this is the "go to" place for me. This is the more popular of the two Bluefin locations (Parkland being the other). The decor is slightly dark but light enough to prevent straining to see the menu. I love the modern style; like the metal braided curtains. The tables are laid out nicely (something I am picky about because I despise being stuck staring at a wall or bathroom door). Let's talk sushi now... super fresh and excellent selection, but tend to come apart sometimes. Gone are the days of california rolls and simple rolls (any sushi shop can pump out the easy stuff), I like the specialty rolls and for those this place rocks. I don't think their sushi is the best, but the selection is up there. My recommendations: KC roll, american dream and rainbow rolls (you can thank me later). I have been here many times and have never had anything but a great experience. The staff are very attentive and always provide top-notch service.

my first yelp review.. had to post this- do not follow anyones posts if they like this so called sushi bar :( the worst ever, if anyone gives this thai restaurant with mexican so called chefs anything higher than a 1.. then you dont know anything about sushi and u probably love the rolls with flakes and cream to cover up the gross tasting fish, i have learned that te best sushi in florida, is the worst ever in la! i asked for a 9 piece nigiri--- they give me salmon and tuna.. nothing else- wtf?.. no yellowtail, snapper, sweet shrimp, etc... ughhh! stay away from this place, its a sad place for people who have no clue about real food!!!

  • Nevik E.

Note: On Yelp I review exclusively sushi bars. This was very hard to rate as different parts of the experience were at opposite ends. Sitting at the bar, the waitress told us we couldn't order directly from the chef, and had to order from her. We then asked the head chef if we could order from him and he understood and said yes. The chefs skills were not that impressive. Nigiri rice was packed tight, no wasabi was placed in our nigiri, and he decided he was unprepared to serve us omakase. However, he was very friendly and accommodating so we liked him. More than anything, the high quality fish is driving the stars. All of the fish was outstanding. The selection was slightly better than most bars. A surprisingly nice marlin was available, otoro was not. The nigiri rice was perfectly warm, moist, and nicely seasoned. If rolls are your thing, you're probably paying too much. If you enjoy sashimi and nigiri sushi, the food is excellent.

Food was passable and service is hit and miss here. Sushi was decent (though I'm no sushi expert). Cashew nut chicken (Thai menu) was not worth the price.

Went for lunch- it's overpriced and the menu is not eclectic enough- especially to be called sushi and Thai. Restaurant is decorated nicely and the servers are very friendly.

My Sashimi was outstanding. It was advertised as sashimi with chef's surprise - I told the waitress I cant have surprises because I am GF - and she went into detail of what I can't/won't eat and my surprise was just awesome - rice-less mini sushi roll :)))) the chef went above and beyond for "nobody" me :)))) Got to love the special touch little note: They had no Gluten free soy sauce ... but that makes no difference in stars for me because I understand they can't make all and everyone happy... I just bring mine whatever place I go:))) The service was very good and we had very nice time.

My favorite sushi restaurant in Boca. They have great Thai as well. It can be a bit pricey but the quality is worth it. The fish is pretty fresh so I usually get sashimi - you can't go wrong here.

Great food! Good service, everything is very fresh. I enjoy eating outside and it's nice to be able to eat outside in any weather here! A little on the pricey side, but if you want quality, you will pay more. Gladly tell anyone to go here that is looking for a great meal.

This is one of the better sushi restaurants in Boca. Order the Lobster Bomb as it is out of this world.

Went here for lunch and had the salmon teriyaki. It was very tasty, without a fishy smell. The broccoli that came with it was undercooked though. Also the green ice tea was a weird toxic green color and had no taste (must have been some kind of mix). A clean place with good service but nothing special and a little pricey for what it is.

So I'm in Boca Raton, between meetings, and we need food. My colleague here recommends sushi... um, being from the West coast, I have doubts. A short drive later, here we are, 11am, first people here, seated prompted and there isn't any doubt, you are going to get great service. With the Lunch menu in hand, one item which I am always glad to see, is Makunouchi () which I have always had amazingly, or just awful. Here, it was overall a good dish. The lowlight was the seared tuna was a little too seared for my tastes, but the tempura was cooked at the peak of perfection. The Eel was nicely cooked, the sauce wasn't over powering, and the calamari was done right. I was sadly missing some Umeboshi, otherwise, this is a solid lunch plate. The restaurant is a basic Asian/Japanese Bistro, located in a higher end strip mall. I love great places that are hidden where you wouldn't expect. I think if you are looking for a lunch spot, this is good food, I may come back if I am able to, but if I could judge this with a .5... this place gets a 3.5.

  • Mike V.

The food here is cooked great. It seems, however, that the chef/owner is unwilling to risk adding true thai spice to the dishes. Next time a guest orders Thai hot, the chef should smile and bring true thai flavors to the table (does not mean just heat). Over all a safe place to bring someone that might be willing to try thai food, but is a little cautious

The sushi here is top of the line. The rolls are creative and delicious. It isn't cheap; but it is definitely worth it.

Excellent Sashimi and Sushi selection. They also customize as you like. The quality is very fresh and clean. Service is good but sketchy when very busy. I try to avoid lunchtime and weekends. Very worthwhile if you do wait and try the japanese kirin beer if your not a sake fan!

Ive Bev n going to blue fin on a regular basis over the last 5 to 6 years. NEVER had a disappointment on the quality of food. S Sushi and sashimi is the freshest. Hot kitchen food always delicious. Fun and friendly servers and efficient. Resident of coconut creek

Good, but not 'omg' good. Went with some friends, My wife had a the Pad Thai which was very nice, but lack of vegetables was a bit off putting as we ordered the vegetable pad thai. The guys ordered a sushi boat and I can say it was very fresh and very good, but not earth shattering. Service was definitely great, very attentive. I would like to go back and try the rolls and maybe some of their more creative dishes.

Awesome Sushi, great friendly staff, I regularly eat at BlueFin. Only one negative is that the decor is getting a little old, time for a refresh! Always fresh, always accommodating and very reasonable lunch menu!

Second time there and very impressed, I live 40 miles away but would gladly drive up here for dinner. I've eaten sushi at 6 places in my area and can't compare them to Bluefin. I used to live in S. California and this is the closest in Fl to some of the better places I ate at there. Service was great, staff friendly bathroom fine.

HUGE yummy sushi rolls. Great curry dishes. Fast service. Their only hiccup are the prices. Pretty expensive for a sushi joint, but they do have some pretty good lunch specials. Definitely worth checking out!

Horrible customer service. Called on delivery status and was told to in snarky tone to wait longer. Order was wrong and asked them to redeliver missing item. They proceeded to tell us we were wrong and didn't order those things. The sad thing is I would of paid but the woman screaming in the background made it obvious they have too much business and don't appreciate ours. They told us to keep the food and they were going to issue a refund. **Update: I just received a call from my security that they just ran the security gate to come and get the food back. The owners daughter runs the restaurant now and it's clear from the delivery driver this has become an on going problem with her.

This place was pretty good although surely not the best sushi I have ever had. I went there with some relatives and had a total of 9 people in our party so we made a reservation. In turned out that we didn't need a reservation since the place was almost empty. They sat us immediately and our waitress took our drink order right after we all sat down. The waitress was fine and she did fill the water glasses promptly. I ordered wonton soup, a california roll, a boston roll, a spicy tuna and spicy crab roll. Everything was good, not great. I have had better sushi but I've also had worse sushi so this place is average. The wonton soup was literally too hot to eat so I had to wait a few minutes for it too cool off before diving in. Everyone basically ordered different items and we went left satisfied. The waitress did forget to bring one of the rolls that someone else ordered; however, she decided she was full and told the waitress to just cancel that order. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back to this place; however, if I was in the area and craving sushi, I might give it another try. It's also a little on the expensive side so you have to watch what you order or you might be in for a little sticker shock!

What do you say about a restaurant that doesn't stand out in any way, shape, or form? When you walk into Bluefin, you're greeted by a very nice atmosphere. Gentle music playing in the background, some exotic drapes hanging from the ceiling to serve as a barrier between the kitchen/sushi area and the tables. A nice, full service bar, and a plasma TV showing the days news (muted). The food was mediocre; I've had much better and much worse sushi. I will give them credit for their ginger slices -- I'm not sure how they prepare them or where they get them but that ginger pangs your mouth and cleanses your palette like nobody's business. The service was mediocre as well. The server was pleasant enough, but after she served us our food, she seemed to just meld into the woodwork and fade out of existence: we never saw her again to ask us about the meal, or even fill up our drinks again. She appeared to hand us our check, and then she disappeared again.. How typical of a woman: just show up when there's money, and disappear when it's gone, haha. Pricewise, you're looking at 7-12 bucks for a sushi roll, 20 bucks for a combination platter, and 25-30 for their more succulent entrees (Duck, lobster). I didn't try the bar, but I heard they have pretty good Saki. Also didn't try out the, ahem, facilities, either, so I'll have to defer to other reviews on that front. -3 Stars for just not popping out in any way. Do something to capture my interest and make me want to come back, guys.

  • Steve S.

I dont get Florida from a cuisine point of view: The Mid South has BBQ. Texas has Tex Mex. Mexico has Mex Tex....Florida seems to have everything yet nothing in particular. Each strip mall, regular mall or lifestyle shopping center does have its own set of unique restaurants and of course Starbucks Bluefin is a nice enough place from an aeshetic point of view. Its Asian, but in a general PanAsian type of way. You can have Japanese, sushi and Thai all within this kind of modern environment. They do present food very well in boats(but not Asian junks, more like Scandanavian Longboats), and the place was packed...I had the chicken with cellophane noodles. Is that Thai or Japanese? It was pretty good with soy sauce, lots of soy sauce Which is Japanese, I think

Flew in from Chicago this evening and was absolutely starving after a long flight (oh wait, I'm always starving even when I don't take a long flight). Anyway, my parents suggested we stop by Bluefin Sushi for dinner and I was all for it. We arrived a little after 6 for the early bird special (very fitting for a Friday night in South Florida) and were seated right away. The menu has lots to choose from and I was hungry enough to order 1 of everything, but I resisted the urge and limited myself to 2 rolls...a spicy tuna roll and another fancy roll (can't recall the name right now, but it pretty much had every type of fish in it). The rest of the fam ordered some sushi as well and we got some edaname fried calamari to start...it's not a real sushi dinner with my family without starting with fried calamari. The edaname came out fast, but the calamari didn't arrive until after our sushi. Actually until after I reminded the waiter about it...pretty sure he forgot! And our sushi arrived at all different times, which always annoys me a bit. We'd all like to be able to eat at the same time! As for sushi, it was pretty solid. I'm not a mayo fan and the special roll had a little too much mayo for my liking...usually I would have sent it back, but I was too hungry to care. And it was still very good mayo and all. To sum up my ramblilng: good & fresh sushi, a little more expensive than other sushi restaurants I've been to in the area, and crappy service. 4 stars for the sushi, 2 stars for the service!

I stumbled upon here by accident with some friends. It is a very small restaurant but the waiter who might have also been the owner was very nice and courteous. I ordered sushi which was okay but my friend ordered a Thai dish which was better so I would recommend sticking to their Thai options. Its a good price and you get fast service so if your in the mood for thai and not for breaking the bank or spending over an hour eating then this is the place for you.

  • Todd O.

Simply OK. In was expecting more because there are 4 or 5 sushi chefs and the restaurant is trendy and crowded. Had the sushi/sashimi combo and was less than impressed. It's nothing special and nothing to remember. 3 stars for the atmosphere but thats all.

Sushi-fresh Staff-friendly Prices-fair What more could you ask for from a sushi-thai restaurant in Boca? I have been here a few time with friends and the food has always been consistent. Edamame, tataki, salad, veg soup and the sea bass have all been top notch. Great location right across the street from LA Fitness. I have even ordered to go on occasion and been satisfied.

I remember this place when it used to be Acqua Sol and unfortunately they closed a few years back. I must say I miss the martinis from Acqua Sol. With that said, I am happy though that Bluefin took over the establishment as a sushi/thai restaurant. I went after work with a friend about a year ago, and I can't wait to go back again. We both started with the miso soup, which was very tasty and had decent tofu chunks and thinly slices pieces of seaweed. The sushi (sashimi and maki) is very good. The key...freshness. The portions, very healthy. The presentation, very artsy. Pair your sushi with your favorite sake (warm or cold) and you are set. Additionally, they also serve Thai food as well. I have not had the chance to try their Thai though. I am also happy to find out that a lot of the Acqua Sol decor remained. Very modern look which adds to an awesome atmosphere to consume sushi.

The restaurant is alright, service is fine, but the sushi leaves a lot to be desired. Start off with a beer, some saki and a side of edamame and things are going fine. Look at the menu...and you start to get worried. Tempura this...tempura that...about 80% of this menu seems to be tempura (might be exaggerating a bit, more like 50%)!!! But still...tempura....tempura......tempura!!!!! So maybe I decide I'm going to be in a "tempura mood" tonight. So I order a couple tempura rolls and a couple regular rolls along with the sashimi dinner. Wait about 20 minutes and the food starts to arrive. Tempura rolls are decent, I'd give them a 7/10. Then I venture over to a regular roll...dun dun dun....even worse! 6/10. Then I figure I should try some of the sashimi while I'm at it...why not can't get much worse...5.5/10!!! My question: How can a place on the coast have such a poor offering of sushi? And why are all the sushi restaurants in Florida secretly Thai restaurants too...? Avoid unless this is the only sushi place in town...which in Boca it happens to be...then decide how badly you want sushi and convince yourself to drive to Ft. Lauderdale.

    (2)
  • Jim M.

Decor...functional Service...fair but not cordial. Food...very good..portions could be slightly larger.....Sent back the miso soup once....they had not bothered to taste it that day.... Remember that this is a Japanese restaurant which is not owned by Japanese....probably some other asian group..... Overall...food is good....service people could be more cordial....

Consistently great food. Service is prompt. You'll enjoy yourself here. The Thai food is yummy and the fish is fresh and beautifully prepared. The price is moderate to expensive, so this would be a great place for a treat with a friend, family member, or date. You can eat outside or inside.

didn't go to this location, went to the one in Parkland. thai AND sushi!? who the heck came up with that idea? i was extremely skeptical about this place, and thought the whole thai/sushi concept was such a cheesy ploy to attract customers who don't know any better. but, i was pleasantly surprised by some of their dishes the tuna tataki was good. the rolls we ordered were pretty standard americanized sushi rolls, good as well. the manager was very nice, and brought us a bowl of fruit at the end of the meal. we were asked to choose a piece of fruit, and he did a lil analyis of our personality based on the fruit we picked, and he was dead on! i appreciated the great service.

I've gone to the blue Fin-on and off for about 1.5 years now. Sushi was top rate when I first started and so was the service. Now, the sushi is average, service is bad and prices high. Had lunch there the other day. Had to flag down the waitress to order, flag her down twice to ask for our meals and basically got up and went to the kitchen area to get bill-Simple lunch with a split tuna takki was an hour and 45 minutes. Got a third meal from the lunch specials for someone back at the office Tab 60.00 for 2 rolls, takki and one lunch special.

Blue Fin is a very popular restaurant among the locals , tourists and nearby office go-ers in Boca. Its a nice chic restaurant with live sushi counters, open kitchen and they serve beer and wine for alcoholic beverages. It has a few patio seating but unfortunately this year south Florida has been crazy cold!!! (so would'nt suggest it for winter). The place is always packed and as for the food they have a very distinctive menu serving Thai specialities and very well portioned sushi rolls. The service is very warm and all the ethnic servers know very well about their food. On my latest visit to the restaurant I came in at 7pm for a table and they said I had to wait for half an hour for a table. I asked the host (who could also be the owner of the place) if i could sit and have a drink while i waited for my friend and also for the table. He recommended me to The Grille next door saying I could go and have a drink over there and they would call me in half an hour on my cell phone when my table was ready. But unfortunately the call never came. That was pretty disappointing! Personally it din't matter to me too much because i had a good time at the bar at the Grille with my friend but i can assure that there would have been a lot of disgruntled people if they came back to find out they still did not have a table after waiting while people who came later on were already seated. So i would suggest don't go too far if you are asked to wait for a table!!! But overall, Blue Fin is a decent place to enjoy a nice evening of sushi, thai curries and good service at a fair price.

Peter and his son Duk run the front of the house, his sister runs the Thai kitchen. Japanese partner Yozo-san runs the sush part of the operation so that this is not your typical Thai restaurant taking advntage of the trendy popularity of sushi. These folks are dedicated professionals in their fields and it shows brightly! The food is outstanding, the servise and the ambience are not to be questioned. Bring your family, bring your clients; you won't make a mistake. Another location in Parkland is every bir the equal! Fresh fishes ans shellfish from Hawaii and Japan? you'll find them at Blue Fin, without the New York or South Beach prices; just don't forget to take care of the sushi chefs!

I enjoyed a nice lunch at Bluefin... The place has a nice mix of thai food and sushi. I had the sushi and was better than average. Parking was a little difficult for lunch, but night time is much better. If you are with a group that doesn't partake in sushi and you have a craving, Bluefin will hit the spot for you...

Sushi is great. I love the Sushi Bomb especially. Have gone back several times and the service is not too bad, but not the best either.

I love the Sushi at Bluefin, it's consistently fresh and the portions are good, however the prices are on the high side. I've tried several of the Thai dishes on the menu, but didn't enjoy any of them because they were much too sweet.

Bluefin has good thai and sushi food. That said, I think there are restaurants in the Boca area where you can get just as good if not better thai and sushi for a lot less. I might concede that the upscale atmosphere of the place somewhat warrants the price. I will probably go back to Bluefin but not if I am on a tight budget.

The restaurant is trendy and fashionably decorated; I went for lunch and when I walked through the doors I felt like I was in some weird time warp and I was suddenly in jeans, a tank, and sneaks hitting up a "cool" dinner spot with my girlfriends. The service was on cue and the place was packed! This is a favorite lunch option around here and the employees know exactly how to handle their time restricted customers. I love sushi but a friend said their Pad Thai was one of the best she's had, so I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai. Before my Pad Thai came the salad. It was fresh but the ginger dressing had a really strong, not subtle, bite from the ginger. One of my co-workers ordered something that was not on the menu, at all, he just invented what he wanted as if this was Burger King where you have it your way. And guess what, they complied and made it exactly how he wanted. Very nice! My Pad Thai could've definitely used more flavoring, the sauce was a little weak, but the shrimp tasted fresh and the chunks of egg supplemented for the lack of thickness in the sauce. Analyzing it now I actually think that it's good they didn't make it too thick or repugnant because I wouldn't have the energy to write this review. So, it wasn't the best Pad Thai and it surely wasn't the worst. I will return..

The sushi here never fails to disappoint. The high turnover at this restaurant, ensures the sushi is always fresh! The thai food is good as well, but I don't go here for that. Service is usually excellent, considering how busy they are!

Came here once for dinner, and a few other times to pick up takeout. The sushi's great. Haven't tried the cooked dishes. The restaurant staff is quite friendly and attentive. I'd been meaning to write a more descriptive review of this place since I really like it, but I've been busy lately (hence all the takeout sushi haha). Hopefully I'll get a chance to circle back and update this later with accounts of my lovely experiences here.

This place has great lunch specials and always good quality food. I recommend the teryakki salmon with bockchoy instead of rice and also the beef tartar is amazing.

First time for me at Bluefin but I went with a local regular. Not your average sushi restaurant! We had two dishes that were both spectacular in taste and in presentation. The Lobster Tempura Roll was unbelievable! We has another amazing crazy corn cake type sushi dish that was also a mind blower! All in all, Bluefin kicks ass and balls!

The iced green tea is like water with food coloring, no taste. Too expensive for what you get and crowded mid week at lunch. My friend ordered a lunch box and that looked like a better deal than what I ordered. If I go back I will probably try that rather than the sashimi, which was tasty but not worth it. And the spicy hand roll had zero spice or flavor, fish was good, we'll constructed roll, just blah overall.

First impression - walk in at lunch and hit by a wall of bleach smell. That's a really bad sign. They should be using proper sanitizer. Ordered yacki soba. It's not soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles, usually dipped in a bowl of sauce with wasabi and radish) -- it's just boiled ramen noodles, stir fried with some token pieces of cabbage and a couple slices of carrot. $11. It was worth no more than $3. Service was good during busy lunch and deserved 15-18% tip. (Seated quickly, water quick and stayed full, ordered promptly). When I smell bleach in a restaurant I will not eat the fish. Unfortunately, I was served ramen for soba.

Bluefin is a popular place for myself and coworkers to pop into for lunch. It's a tough place to grade though. It is almost always packed and in an area where parking can be close to impossible at lunch time. Today we had sashimi and sushi and it was all around good. As usual the service was average. There is no doubt that the sushi is pretty good. Personally, when in doubt I go with a dragon roll. And the ambiance is nice, with class through out. I prefer more of a laid back approach. So when I am picking, our work group will head for Sushi Rock. It is cheaper which to many means worse. But "you get what you pay for does NOT always apply. Bluefin cost more but it is good sushi as well. I won't hold the parking against it but heed my words, you may want to pick a place you can actually park at without stressing out for 10 minutes

I have only ever had the sushi here and it is consistently high quality and delicious! The service is always excellent and it is very quick, especially around lunch time. A fantastic place to have a quick, intimate, fancy, sit down meal for lunch. I always see many business folks lunching here during the week. I usually order the sushi lunch specials, which they do "bento box" style. They range from about $12-16 and include soup or salad and a "Chef's surprise" which is usually 1-2 dumplings or pieces of sushi. Things I would recommend are the spicy tuna roll, California roll, sashimi, chicken teriyaki, and shrimp tempura. The shrimp tempura in particular is unbelievable with just the perfect amount of friedness and tempura flakes. Great place for dinner too! This place really has the best, high quality sushi in Boca and is such a wonderful atmosphere and ambiance to eat in. Very, very highly recommend!!

The 16 piece sashimi was very good. The service was also fine. I thought the fish was fresh, so I do not understand some of he critics here. The presentation was excellent.

I have eaten here and at Blue Fin Express 3-4x a week for around 5-6 years... Why? Damn good fresh fish, ALWAYS, excellent service and excellent management. The lunchboxes provide more food than most would guess, at a great price - the suhi rolls are the best - the sushi chefs have amazing tenure, no turnover to speak of, as well as the top notch, attentive wait staff. And surprisingly for sushi this good, the Thai food is equally tasty. My recommendations: Sushi Roll - get the sushi bomb Lunchbox - # 8 - Steak teriyaki, sashimi, california rolls, and chef's special rolls Thai - Chicken and steak panang curry Appetizer - beef tataki Won ton soup is best on the east coast Wine selction is fair, no booze, beer is good Pete and his partners and children have created the perfect blend of price and quality in sushi vs anywhere in the world I have been

Fish was fresh and I enjoyed the individual pieces of sushi, but the rolls were unimpressive. They were unoriginal and most of them were tempura, deep fried or cooked fish. The udon soup was bland, but the ginger salad stood out. I would opt for your basic ginger salad and pieces of sushi. Skip the rolls (american dream was the best one we got).

Pretty good. Parking is a bear and it's generally busy. Went for a business lunch the other day, was hoping for a salad/roll lunch special....they don't have anything like that. Lot's of bento-esk boxes with sashimi (which I like to call mystery fish), Thai lunch specials, and Chinese specials for under $15 (not really a bargain). I got the garlic chicken w/ steamed veggies and white rice. It was $10 but very tasty and as far as I could tell very healthy. Also, came with a soup or salad. Salad, wasn't much to behold to be honest, but took the edge off while they cooked our food. I will say we were in and out of there in like 40 mins which is pretty awesome. My friend got the Pad-Thai priced at $13, she thought she would have leftovers to take home for dinner, and laughed b/c it was so good she ate it all. Pricier than I think it should be for lunch, and they don't have a roll/salad special like I was hoping for, but it was tasty and quick. If I get a hankering for Chinese or Thai I'll go back.

I am in love....... I've been here a handful of times and have never had a bad moment. We typically go with a large party of 8 or more, and the dishes/sushi/rolls always come out perfect and in reasonable time. The fish is fresh. The rolls are amazing and unique in nature, and the presentation is beautiful. Love, Love, Love this place.

sooooo disappointed!!!!!! the presentation was incredible and so pretty but the food was not good at all! my spouse and I ordered raw and some cooked and the tuna was fishy. the restaurant smelled fishy and I couldnt eat everything that I ordered. idk why everyone in boca swears by blue fin it was not good . we ordered steamed gyoza and it was dripping water and soggy, and there was no yellow mustard. the ponzu sauce was too sweet. my tuna sashini and the tuna sushi was fishy. my spider roll was sweet and had a peanut sauce on it. yuck!!!! no good blue fin. my new York expectations must be too high and im not even one of these boca snobs that expect the best. I just know the best and this was a real disappointment because it has a wonderful reputation,,,and it was NOT GOOD
